A hilarious version of the classic tale about the strange little fellow with the  hard-to-guess name and the miller's daughter who must spin straw into gold. Rod marionettes and a little bit of magic make this show special for the whole family.  Recommended for ages 5 and up.

Dr. Zombie (the most terrifying horror host on 3rd Ave.) will be hosting a screening of "The Giant Gila Monster". He's going to bring his friend Rick "The Leech" Larsen with him to do puppet presentations with the good doctor. When the movie rolls, they will be on hand to point out the scary parts of the film. Audience members will also be encouraged to share the scary parts they find in the film as well. You never know what the mad doctor will say, so this is an 18+ event. Education, live performance art, and independent cinema, these are the things that truly horrify you. We dare you to come and face the terror.

Found objects, large scale puppets and sputtering lights bring you face to face with the cuddly nightmare that is everyday life. An anti-clown car driven by puppeteer liz HOWLS and co-piloted by musician/lighting enthusiast Drew Simpson, Happy Accident ecstatically careens down the wrong side of the lost highway leaving a trail of old copies of Weekly World News and Jack in the Box wrappers in its wake. Colorfully reimagining Saturday mornings spent drooling over piles of synthetic crap in front of the TV, Happy Accident revels in naked, antipathetic americana. You will probably laugh, you might cry, and like other designer drugs, you will want more within minutes. Ultimately you will ask yourself, “What kind of culture would produce something like this?”

Happy Accident has performed “Vol. 1” on rooftops, in venues, warehouses, backyards and art galleries across the country. A fan favorite at the 2025 New Orleans Giant Puppet Festival, “Vol. 1” has received high praise from audiences.
